How can I improve my Experian Credit Score?

What is a good credit score?
Your Experian Credit Score is based on the information in your Experian Credit Report. It is a number between 0-999, with 999 being the best score. The company will also tell you whether your score is very poor, poor, fair, good or excellent, to give you an idea of what your score means. If you manage your finances responsibly and you are not reliant on credit, this will help you achieve a good credit score.
There are errors in my credit report – how do I fix them?
Errors in your report could affect your chances of getting credit in the future. Errors may include incorrectly recorded late payments, arrears or defaults not being recorded on the Electoral Roll at your current address.

I have moved house – how do I update my details?
To change your current address, or add any previous addresses to your account you will need to log in to CreditExpert. In the Information Centre tab, select Update My Details.
I’ve been turned down for credit – what should I do?
Follow the steps below if you are turned down for credit:
Do not apply for another credit account immediately, as this will decrease your credit score.
Check your account details in the “my account” section of your membership. If you have not provided the address history and all the names used by you in the last 6 years to the company then you won’t be seeing an accurate view of your credit report and score.
Check whether your new history is updated on the account or not.
In the meantime, contact the bank or financial institution involved and ask why they turned your application down.

Check if the information on your credit report is up to date and accurate especially your linked addresses and financial associations. This can be found in the ‘credit report and tools’ page.
How do I cancel my Credit Expert membership or free trial?
To cancel your membership you have to call on free helpline number 0800 561 0083.

How can I tell if I’ve been a victim of fraud?
Following are some common examples:
Your regular bank or credit card statements fail to appear, or you notice that some of your posts seem to be missing.
Your bank or credit card statement includes charges for items you did not purchase or order.
Getting telephone calls or letters that you have been approved or denied credit for accounts which you know nothing about.
Refused credit when you have a good credit history.
Non recognizable data on your credit card report.
I can’t log in to my Credit Expert membership. What to do?
If you have forgotten your username or password, click on ‘Forgotten your login details’ link on the login page. You will be required to answer some security questions before receiving your username via email/resetting your password. Contact the company, if your email address has changed and you cannot receive your username reminder. You will also need to get in touch with the company if you’ve forgotten your memorable word. The company representative will be able to help you get back into your membership, so that you can update your profile with your new email address, or reset your memorable word.
